Ehrlich's $2.9 billion worth of revenue increases as governor remains a sore point among some conservative voters, and a point of attack by Ehrlich's primary opponent, Brian Murphy. This commercial is clearly an attempt to stir up some intramural mischief in the GOP just prior to the primary. Reminding GOP voters of the whole taxes versus fees question may incite some to vote for Murphy, even if only to send Ehrlich a message. The goal is for Ehrlich to emerge from the primary diminished by a Murphy performance that exceeds expectations.
